The Insight Report provides automated statistical analysis of WiFi usage data — surfacing patterns, anomalies, and actionable recommendations without requiring manual data exploration.

What It Shows
Insight Report analyses data collected from your WiFi network — login records, session accounting, zone traffic, and user activity — and presents findings as insight cards. Each card contains a headline, a plain-language explanation, a supporting chart, and a recommended action you can take based on the finding.
The analysis covers the selected date range and compares it against the previous equivalent period to identify trends.
Insight Types
| Insight | Description |
|---|---|
| Usage Trend | Shows whether total bandwidth consumption is growing or shrinking over the period. Highlights percentage change versus the prior period and projects whether current infrastructure is adequate. |
| Peak Hours | Identifies the hours of the day when the network is most and least utilised. Useful for scheduling maintenance windows and planning AP capacity upgrades. |
| Login Method Popularity | Breaks down which authentication methods (password, Google, SMS OTP, voucher, etc.) are most used by your WiFi users. Helps decide which methods to promote or retire. |
| Zone Comparison | Ranks zones by traffic volume and unique user count. Quickly identifies which locations are the busiest and which may have coverage or configuration issues. |
| User Retention | Measures how often returning users reconnect. A high retention rate indicates loyal repeat visitors; a low rate may signal friction in the login experience. |
| Anomaly Detection | Flags unusual spikes in login failures, bandwidth usage, or new account registrations that deviate significantly from the baseline. Each anomaly includes the timestamp, magnitude, and affected zone or user. |
Insight Cards
Each insight is presented as a card with four components:
- Headline — a one-sentence summary of the finding (e.g., "Bandwidth usage grew 34% this month").
- Explanation — two to three sentences putting the finding in context.
- Chart — a supporting visualisation (line chart, bar chart, or donut) showing the underlying data.
- Recommended Action — a concrete suggestion based on the finding (e.g., "Consider upgrading the AP in Zone B" or "Review failed login sources for suspicious IPs").
Date Range
Use the date range picker at the top of the page to select the analysis period. Insight calculations are re-run when the range changes. Supported presets: Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, This Month, Last Month, Custom Range.
For the most meaningful trend comparisons, use a range of at least 30 days. Short ranges (under 7 days) may produce incomplete anomaly baselines.
Export
Click Export PDF to download a formatted summary report containing all currently visible insight cards, charts, and recommended actions. The PDF is suitable for sharing with stakeholders or attaching to operational review documents.
The PDF export reflects the current date range and any active filters. Adjust the range before exporting if you need a specific period.
