Subtenant Users

Subtenant Users shows the WiFi user accounts that belong to a specific subtenant — a filtered view of the main Users module. Subtenant admins use this as their primary user management interface.

What It Shows

This module presents the same user list as the main Users module, but automatically pre-filtered to show only users belonging to the currently selected subtenant. The columns, actions, and detail tabs are identical to the main Users module.

How Users Are Assigned to Subtenants

A WiFi user's subtenant membership is assigned at the time the user is created or registers:

  • Portal registration — if the captive portal is served from a zone assigned to a subtenant, new registrations automatically receive that subtenant's ID.
  • Manual creation — when a subtenant admin creates a user, the user is automatically tagged with the admin's subtenant ID.
  • Manual assignment — a main tenant admin can change the subtenant assignment when editing a user to move them to a different subtenant.
  • Import — the subtenant ID can be included in the import CSV to bulk-assign users during import.

Switch Subtenant

If an admin has access to multiple subtenants (or is a main tenant admin viewing subtenant data), a subtenant dropdown at the top of the page allows switching between subtenants. The user list updates immediately when the selection changes.

Available Actions

The same actions as the main Users module are available, subject to the admin's subtenant role permissions:

  • Create User — new user is automatically tagged to the current subtenant
  • Edit User — update account details, profile, expiry, MAC/zone restrictions
  • Reset Usage — clear session time and quota counters
  • Import — bulk import users from CSV (subtenant_id auto-assigned)
  • Export — download the current filtered list as CSV
  • View Detail Tabs — devices, login records, active sessions, login via, certificates

A main tenant admin viewing Subtenant Users can see all subtenants. A subtenant admin only sees their own subtenant — the dropdown is hidden and the list is always filtered to their assigned subtenant.

Reporting

Bandwidth usage, login history, and user count reports are all filterable by subtenant. To view reports for a specific sub-organisation, apply the subtenant filter in the respective report module.

Use the Export function to generate a per-subtenant user list for branch audits or handover documentation.
